Below are links to download the NORC General Social Science Survey datasets.

Included are two bundles of files. These are the 2006 subset and the 1972-2006 dataset. The data is in ".por" format. Each download contains the full codebook.

You will need to be on a CSU campus subsribing to the SSRIC to gain access to download these datasets. You will not have permission if you attempt to download from home.

Instructions:
Click the appropriate link below to download the associated files. Please allow up to several minutes for the file to download, depending upon your connection speed. The files are bundled in a Zip file so you will need to extract the files from the zip format (windows XP computers will do this automatically -- otherwise, you can use Winzip for Windows and xxxx for Macintosh).

GSS 2006: contains "gss2006.por" and "codebook.pdf"
GSS 1972-2006: contains "gss1972-2006.por" and "codebook.pdf"
